“Around-the-World Stuffing” A Taste of Travel at Your Thanksgiving Table

by Groups User

This Thanksgiving, take your taste buds on a trip! Inspired by the flavors and memories of our favorite destinations, this Around-the-World Stuffing adds a little adventure to your holiday meal.  It's a reminder that every great journey and every great meal begins with curiosity and love.

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of crusty bread, cubed and toasted (your “passport” base)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes (Italy calls!)
  • ½ cup dried cranberries (a nod to home)
  • ½ cup chopped pistachios or almonds (a touch of the Middle East)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin (for those who dream of Morocco)
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley or feta for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft and fragrant.
  2. Add sun-dried tomatoes, cranberries, nuts, and spices. Stir until everything mingles like travelers swapping stories.
  3. Combine with toasted bread cubes in a large bowl, then pour in broth slowly until moistened but not soggy.
  4. Bake in a greased casserole dish at 350°F for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and slightly crisp on top.
  5. Garnish and serve with gratitude — and maybe a travel story or two!

Travel Tip for the Table:
Before you serve, invite everyone to share one favorite travel memory or a destination they dream of visiting next. It’s a wonderful way to bring the joy of travel — and thankfulness — to your Thanksgiving table.
